Lightning Box announces growth following acquisition by Light & Wonder
LIGHT & WONDER has revealed that its slots supplier LIGHTNING BOX has had a surge in global growth following its acquisition.
Since joining Light & Wonder in August 2021, the studio has benefited from the company’s support and has experienced year-on-year growth of 57 per cent while continuing to deliver its entertainment to players around the world. In addition, August 2022 was Lightning Box’s biggest ever month in terms of revenues.
The Sydney-based supplier’s slot LIGHTNING SHENLONG is currently in the top 10 games across the entire OpenGaming entertainment platform, while LIGHTNING GORILLA – soon to be launched in Pennsylvania – has proven to be popular in the US, sitting inside the top 20.
In addition, the LIGHTNING RESPIN games are resonating with players all over the world. Fans of Lightning Box’s offering can also look forward to further franchised content being released by the studio, including the anticipated LIGHTNING BLAZE and STELLAR CASH BLOWN AWAY.
Lightning Box is currently live with more than 50 of the leading US and European operators, including BetMGM, Golden Nugget, Hard Rock Casino, FanDuel, Resorts Casino, BCLC, Loto-Québec, OLG, Sky Bet, LeoVegas, William Hill, Betsson and many more, and releases up to 12 new titles every year through OpenGaming.
“We knew that by joining Light & Wonder we would be able to drive forward with our ambitious plans, but even given the huge global power of the Company, the speed at which we have flourished has taken us aback,” said Lightning Box CEO and co-founder Peter Causley. “Our games continue to hit new heights of popularity around the world and we can’t wait to release new hits to penetrate US, Canadian and European markets even further.”
Light & Wonder CEO iGaming Dylan Slaney commented: “The team at Lightning Box has a wealth of industry experience that they have put to great use in producing some fantastic content that really resonates with players who enjoy land-based titles. The numbers that have been produced in the first 12 months after the acquisition speak for themselves and prove it was the right decision to bring Lightning Box into the Light & Wonder family. We look forward to breaking more records together in the months and years to come.”
